Report by the Syrian Feminist Lobby – Monitoring and Follow-up Unit

This human rights report, produced by the Syrian Feminist Lobby – Monitoring and Follow-up Unit, reveals serious patterns of abduction, enforced disappearance, and sexual violence targeting women and girls in several Syrian regions, particularly along the coast, in Suwayda, and in the western countryside of Homs and Hama.

The report is based on testimonies from survivors, victims’ families, and field data documenting the use of gender-based and sectarian violence as a tool of intimidation and social and political coercion.

It also presents detailed testimonies regarding conditions of arbitrary detention, threats, religious coercion, and psychological and physical abuse, in addition to indicators pointing to the existence of organized networks and security complicity in some of the documented cases.

The report adopts a feminist human rights approach that highlights the impact of conflict and sectarian violence on women, as well as the challenges related to documentation, community fear, and the absence of protection mechanisms for survivors and witnesses.
