The father of the disappeared child, Maryam Faez Sultan, has issued an appeal for help in locating and returning his daughter, who disappeared on the morning of Friday, 1/9, after heading to her private lesson in the Mazzeh 86 neighborhood.
The child’s family informed the security authorities immediately after the incident occurred. However, up to this moment, the authorities have neither found the child nor revealed her fate, or held anyone accountable for her disappearance.
The Syrian Feminist Lobby calls on the authorities to take urgent action to uncover the child’s fate, return her safely to her family, and hold accountable those involved in her disappearance.
The authorities must stop disregarding cases of abducted and disappeared women and girls, and fulfill their responsibilities to prevent kidnapping and crimes against women and children, while holding perpetrators accountable regardless of their motives.
