On December 24 and 26, 2024, the Syrian Feminist Lobby organized two workshops in As-Suwayda, with the participation of a group of prominent Syrian women lawyers. The workshops aimed to open an in-depth discussion on the importance of transitional justice in the Syrian context, as well as ways to ensure women’s political participation and strengthen their role within transitional justice mechanisms.
The sessions were facilitated by Rima Flihan, Director of the Syrian Feminist Lobby, and provided a space for collective reflection and the exchange of legal expertise, highlighting the pivotal role that women can play in advancing more inclusive and equitable pathways for transitional justice.
The discussions were marked by their effectiveness and productivity, with participants presenting practical insights on the challenges and opportunities related to women’s engagement in the legal and political spheres. The workshops concluded with an emphasis on the importance of continued cooperation to foster a culture of human rights and to ensure active women’s participation in public life, as an essential condition for achieving justice and equality in Syria’s future.
