The Syrian Feminist Lobby monitors the popular movement unfolding across Syria’s provinces. We stand in solidarity with the Syrian people’s rightful demand for political, civil, and basic human rights. Our hearts are with the people of As-Suwayda governorate as they engage in a collective strike and demonstrations in both As-Suwayda and Daraa, calling for a political resolution, a change in regime, and the implementation of UN Resolution 2254.
The Syrian people have spoken, reaffirming their yearning for a transformative change. A change that paves the way for a democratic nation, safeguarding citizens’ rights while fostering an environment of prosperity and honor.
The current situation has made clear the regime’s disregard for the plight of its citizens — their suffering, impoverishment, and displacement. The regime is not pursuing a political resolution. The regime is indifferent to the strained circumstances gripping the people, wearied by the military solution it forcibly imposed a dozen years ago. The regime’s reckless choices have taken a toll on the country’s resources, decimated its infrastructure, and uprooted its people.
There cannot be a meaningful breakthrough in Syria, absent a long-term political solution that is built on a foundation of economic and political stability, security, and improved social services.
The Syrian Feminist Lobby stands in solidarity with the people of Syria and for a future encompassing dignity, justice, and freedom. We advocate for the settlement of Syrians displaced by the unjust massacres committed by the regime and regional powers that spread corruption and exploited the country’s resources.
Together, we strive for dignity, freedoms, and rights.
